The biggest beef in Hollywood is far and away between mega rapper Kanye West, and pop star sensation Taylor Swift. Worse than Biggie vs. 2pac, nastier than Drake vs Chris Brown – the Kayne / Swift beef has been going on for seven long years! So how’s about we take a look back at the timeline, starting from the beginning to see just how this fight began, and all the fuel that’s been added to the fire since…

Who doesn’t remember that fateful day during the MTV Video Music Awards, when then 19-year-old Taylor Swift was called to the stage to accept her award for Best Female Video, when then Kanye jumps on stage out of nowhere, grabs her mic and says, “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you finish, but Beyonce had the best video of all time. The best of all time!” And from that insanely rude moment, a mega-beef had started.

Kanye appears on the Jay Leno Show confessing, “It was rude, period. I don’t try to justify it, ’cause I was in the wrong. Dealing with the fact that I hurt someone or took anything away, you know, from a talented artist – or from anyone – because I only wanted to help people.

Kanye finally publicly apologizes via Twitter tweeting, “”I’m sorry, Taylor, We’re both artists, and the media and managers are trying to get between us. She deserves the apology more than anyone. Thank you [Twitter co-founders] Biz Stone and Evan Williams for creating a platform where we can communicate directly.”

Despite Kanye’s apology, Taylor took to the VMA’s a year after the incident to perform her new song ‘Innocent’, which contained lyrics like, “Who you are in not what you did / You’re still innocent” – which the critics took as a slight towards Kanye, in a high-road kinda way.

After five years of back-and-forth apologies, Kanye and Swift appear to form an alliance (politically), when Kanye announces he’s running for president in 2020, with Taylor appointing herself as his running mate. There’s peace in the world. But not for long.

Just when we thought the beef was squashed, Kanye releases his new track ‘Famous’, where he says, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.” Kanye, who appears to be off his meds claims that he got Taylor’s approval for the racy lyrics, which Taylor’s camp vehemently denied. Taylor herself doesn’t respond, but people in her camp (like her brother Austin) took to Instagram with a video of him throwing his Yeezys in the garbage.

Now at the Grammys, Taylor wins Album of the Year, where she takes a swipe at Kanye with this acceptance speech statement: “As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there—there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be greatest feeling in the world.” Talking about Kanye, much?

At this point many think the feud is now dead and over. But then Chrissy Teigen comes out and says “I’ll tell you, it’s not over. This is going to go on. This is being waged.” And it appears Chrissy was right because in June, Kim in a GQ interview rehashes the controversial ‘Famous’ lyrics issue saying, “She totally approved that,” Kim said. “She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t. I swear, my husband gets so much shit for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved.”

Now it’s on, because Kanye releases a video for the infamous ‘Famous’ song, which features him and a wax Taylor Swift – completely in the buff! Kanye brings the whole “we might still have sex” line to life, creating a NSFW visual no one will ever be able to unsee, while at the same time, promoting the whole “rape culture” thingy everyone’s trying to bring to an end.

So now what? While we’re still waiting for a response from Taylor herself, Taylor’s BFF Lena Dunham took to Facebook with this appropriately angry response: “Now I have to see the prone, unconscious, waxy bodies of famous women, twisted like they’ve been drugged and chucked aside at a rager?” Dunham wrote. “I’m sure that Bill Cosby doll being in the bed alongside Donald Trump is some kind of statement… I don’t have a hip, cool reaction, because seeing a woman I love like Taylor Swift (fuck that one hurt to look at, I couldn’t look), a woman I admire like Rihanna or Anna, reduced to a pair of waxy breasts made by some special effects guy in the Valley, it makes me feel sad and unsafe and worried for the teenage girls who watch this and may not understand that grainy roving camera as the stuff of snuff films.”
